A year ago for my birthday I started a Charity: Water campaign. Charity: Water is a non-profit that suggested the idea of “giving up your birthday” to raise money in lieu of gifts. Every penny of the money raised goes directly to fund freshwater wells in developing nations. I was unbelievably blown away by the support of my family and friends… above and beyond what I imagined for my little 24th birthday: about $700 towards bringing clean water to folks who’ve never had it. Thankyouthankyouthankyou to those who donated last year. My heart was and still is very full.
Since it takes 18 months from the time they send the money to the field to when the well project is complete, I’ll be seeing in just over 6 months the results of that birthday present. Pretty rad.
So I thought, hey. Why not do it again?
My goal is bigger this year: to raise $1000 by my birthday with the idea being 25th Birthday= $25 donations, though any amount will help. Even if I don’t reach it, whatever I do raise goes straight to bringing water to people anyways. Win-win, really!
Please consider helping me and mostly, helping others!
